1.
Purchase for Health Awareness
Why trust your beef purchases to foreign suppliers
or to super market chains? Why pay more for less healthful
beef? Lowline forage-fed beef cuts are finely grained, tender,
and naturally lower in fat and calories than grain-fed
beef. While grass-fed beef is low in saturated fat,
it contains up to six times more omega-3 essential fatty
acids, which play a vital role in overall health and
well-being.
2.
Purchase weaned calves for your summer pasture.
They are ideally suited to smaller acreages. Small acreage farmers will appreciate
the easy handling of Lowline Angus cattle, which are about 60% the size of
traditional Angus cattle. They are perfect for the retired person or the young
family with a few acres and a desire to give people the best beef available
without tearing up the pasture with an 1800-pound animal.
Lowline cattle allow for more efficient use of your pasture, and are ideal either for agricultural exemptions, personal beef
production, or simply to keep the grass mowed down. The following chart offers a
pasture efficiency comparison with other breeds:

3.
Purchase for Club calves.
Australian Lowline cattle are docile, easy-going, great for kids. and are a pleasure to raise. They're easy on your fences, and easily handled by
women. The average mature cow is 39 inches tall and weighs 800 pounds, and the
average mature bull is 42 inches tall and weighs 1200 pounds. If you are new
to the cattle industry, you will find Lowlines less intimidating and easier
to handle than larger breeds. Lowlines are particularly beneficial for children
to learn and practice cattle handling techniques.
4.
Purchase as heifer bulls or for beef animal size reduction.
When the commercial beef rancher uses Australian Lowline bulls as sires, they
can expect fewer abortions, and easy and unassisted calving. The gestation
period is up to two weeks shorter, and can allow for greater management flexibility.
The Lowline sires may also pass on many of the genetically selected traits
such as good temperament, earlier maturity, beefiness and higher meat quality.
